The Omron MD-900 brings a 900 kg payload capacity to Omron’s MD series of autonomous mobile robots. Together with the MD-650, the MD series now covers payloads from 650 kg to 900 kg, filling the gap between the lighter LD-250 and the heavy-duty HD-1500 in Omron’s mobile robot lineup.
Filling the Medium-Payload Range
The original LD series offered payloads up to 250 kg, while the HD-1500 handled loads at 1,500 kg. The MD-650 was the first step in addressing the space between those two ranges, and the MD-900 extends it further. Manufacturing environments that require transport of heavier work-in-progress materials, sub-assemblies, or loaded pallets now have a platform-native option without resorting to the significantly larger HD-1500.

Fleet Integration
Like all Omron mobile robots, the MD-900 integrates with Omron Fleet Manager, which controls up to 100 robots with different payloads on a single system. The software automatically selects the optimal robot for each transport task based on payload and availability. Existing fleets running LD, MD-650, or HD-1500 units can add the MD-900 without changes to the fleet management infrastructure.

What This Means for Dimalog Customers
For operations handling payloads between 650 kg and 900 kg, the MD-900 removes the need to step up to the significantly larger HD-1500. Dimalog is evaluating the platform for top module development – contact us to discuss how the MD series fits your material handling setup.
